When is it used?

Overtime requires the employee's written consent, obtained when the contract is signed or when the need arises and kept in the personnel file. Overtime without consent leads to an administrative fine.

Points to watch

  • Consent is obtained once; it does not have to be renewed each year.
  • The employee may withdraw consent with 30 days' written notice.
  • Annual overtime may not exceed 270 hours; daily work may not exceed 11 hours.
  • Pregnant and nursing employees, those under 18 and part-time employees may not work overtime.
