About this document

When is it used?

If you believe an SGK administrative fine is wrong, you can object within 15 days of notification to the SGK provincial directorate or social security centre that imposed it. The objection stops enforcement of the fine.

Points to watch

  • Paying within 15 days of notification gives a one-quarter reduction; paying at the reduced amount does not remove the right to object.
  • If the objection is rejected, you can apply to the labour court within 30 days of notification of the rejection.
  • Support the objection with documents: notification date, document type, number of employees and the amount are common sources of error.
  • Check the correct fine: SGK fine calculator · Reducing SGK fines
