Bağ-Kur premiums 2026: amounts, the 5-point discount and due date

2026 Bağ-Kur (4/b) premium rate, minimum and maximum premiums, conditions for the 5-point discount, due date and consequences of debt for sole proprietors and company partners.

Sole proprietors, limited company partners, joint stock company board members who are shareholders and self-employed professionals are insured under 4/b (Bağ-Kur). The premium is calculated on the declared premium base, which you choose between the floor and ceiling.

2026 amounts

The premium rate is 35.75%; 30.75% with the 5-point discount for those without premium debt who pay on time. Bağ-Kur calculator

Premium base Without discount With 5-point discount Monthly difference
TRY 33,030 (floor) TRY 11,808.23 TRY 10,156.73 TRY 1,651.50
TRY 50,000 TRY 17,875.00 TRY 15,375.00 TRY 2,500.00
TRY 100,000 TRY 35,750.00 TRY 30,750.00 TRY 5,000.00
TRY 297,270 (ceiling) TRY 106,274.03 TRY 91,410.53 TRY 14,863.50

At the lowest base the annual benefit of the discount is about TRY 19,818. "5 points" means a discount of 5% of the base, not 5% of the premium.

Discount conditions

  • The premium is paid on time,
  • No premium, administrative fine, late penalty or late payment surcharge debt of your own (if restructured or deferred, instalments paid regularly),
  • Voluntary insured persons and village heads cannot use the discount.

When is it paid?

Each month's premium is due by the last day of the following month (e.g. 31 October 2026 for September 2026). Public holidays and SGK extensions may change this. Payment via e-Devlet, bank or post office.

If unpaid

Late penalties and surcharges accrue and the month's discount is lost; a Bağ-Kur insured person with premium debt has problems using general health insurance and applying for retirement. A loss-making business or not issuing invoices does not stop Bağ-Kur by itself; insurance continues until the tax registration is closed.

Young entrepreneur Bağ-Kur support

The 1-year Bağ-Kur premium support for young entrepreneurs starting for the first time was abolished in 2026. The young entrepreneur income tax exemption (TRY 400,000 a year) continues for those meeting the conditions. Opening a sole proprietorship

Which base to choose?

A higher premium base increases the future pension but also the monthly cost. For those close to retirement, the last years' earnings matter more. We decide together with income and retirement timing. Related: Optional insurance · Service buy-back
